The BETAFPV Air75 is an ultra-lightweight 75mm whoop, weighing just 21g, that is designed for intense freestyle flying. With a responsive flight controller and paired with 450mAh 1S LAVA LiPo Batteries, it delivers impressive agility and extended flight times, making it a great option for both beginners and experienced pilots. While I haven’t flown the Air75 myself, I built a custom 21g whoop using the Meteor75 Air frame and 5-in-1 FC, and it was a ton of fun to fly. Based on that experience, I’m confident the Air75 is one of the best 75mm BNFs available.

Pros
  • It’s once of the cheapest 75mm whoops on the market at $95
  • Lightweight at 21g.
  • Easy to fly
  • Offers a great flying experience for beginners
Cons
  • The motors are directly soldered to the FC, meaning you’ll need to know how to solder to replace any damaged ones. Soldering is a skill that every serious pilot should learn how to do sooner rather than later.
  • The U.FL antenna connector can come loose and fall off during crashes. Adding a dab of Welders Glue or E6000 on the side of the connector helps secure it and prevent it from detaching.
  • The Air Canopy is prone to breaking in the back

Upgrade Options

  1. Canopy – As previously mentioned, one of the cons of this build is the Air Canopy. It’s not the most durable, so it will probably break within a couple of weeks of flying. Here’s my recommendation for upgrading this part:
    • 1. Extra Durability: The original Mobula 6 Canopy with the Tokyo Dom Cam Holder provides solid protection, weighing just 0.35g more than the Air Canopy. While it’s a small trade-off, the extra durability goes a long way in preventing damage during crashes. This is especially helpful for 75mm whoops, where heavier whoops lead to more momentum on impact, increasing the chance of parts breaking.
  2. Motors – If you start to crave more speed, then I would recommend upgrading your motors with either Tiny Whoop or weBLEEDfpv 0802 motors

Important Note

Make sure that your Air Canopy is NOT touching the U.FL (video antenna). The section of the Air Canopy that is next to the U.FL should be snipped to prevent the canopy from breaking off the U.FL during a crash. If it is not already snipped off, then make sure to do so!!
