Time Limits & Calculators

• Indoor runs: must use the Indoor Calculator with a maximum time limit of 60 seconds.
• Outdoor runs, or when flying both indoor and outdoor: use the Outdoor Calculator with a maximum time limit of 90 seconds.

Custom Tricks
If a trick is not listed in the calculator, you can design it using the Custom Trick Builder by combining its basic motions. Once created, you can record it in the calculator under the assigned Custom Trick #.

Multipliers

Tricks of the Challenge
Earn double points whenever you perform the featured tricks for this challenge. The tricks for this challenge are:

• Split S
• Powerloop
• Matty Flip

KWAD
Keep Whooping All Day by completing objectives to collect letters. Each letter adds a bonus, and finishing the full set gives a major boost.

• Each letter = +250 points
• All 4 letters bonus = +2000 points
• Completing KWAD = +3000 total bonus points

The KWAD objectives for this challenge are:

• K – Half Matty
• W – Wall Tap
• A – Trippy Switch
• D – Barani

Streak Bonus
Each successful trick adds +1% of its base value to your streak multiplier. The bonus compounds as you continue landing tricks, up to a maximum of 200%.

• Example: A 500-point trick adds a +5% bonus to your streak multiplier.
• Crash = streak fully reset to 0%.
• Bump or Ground Tap = streak reduced by 50%.

Obstacle Switching
Changing obstacles adds variety to your freestyle and rewards you with multipliers. Every 3 switches gives a growing bonus that applies only to total trick score:

• 3 switches = +5% bonus
• 6 = +10%
• 9 = +20%
• 12 = +35%
• 15 = +50%
• 18 = +70%
• 21 = +100%

Penalties

Trick Repeat Reduction
Repeating the same trick lowers its value each time:

• 1st = 100% (full value)
• 2nd = 75%
• 3rd = 50%
• 4th or more = 0%

Back-to-Back
Performing the same trick consecutively creates a compounding penalty:

• 1st = full value
• 2nd in a row = -50%
• 3rd in a row = -75%
• 4th in a row = -87.5% (and so on)
  This penalty stacks with the Trick Repeat Reduction.

Obstacle Repeat
You can use the same obstacle for up to 3 tricks in a row at full value. After that, penalties apply:

• 4th = -33%
• 5th = -66%
• 6th or more = -100%

Switching to a new obstacle resets this count.

Open-air tricks will stall the repeat count without resetting or adding to it.

Sloppy Trick
If a trick is poorly executed, such as over/under rotating, breaking loop flow, or flying awkwardly, it loses 35% of its value.

Missing
If you miss your target without bumping into anything, the trick earns 0 points and your streak multiplier stalls.

Bump/Ground Tap
If you bump into an object or tap the ground during a trick:

• That trick’s score is reduced by 50%
• Your streak multiplier is reduced by 50%

Crash
Crashing breaks your flow entirely. Your streak multiplier is reset to 0%.

   *you must start the Flip/Roll before entering the obstacle and complete it after exiting

Welcome to IGOW5, Week 0. IGOW, short for International Game of Whoop, is a global online competition for pilots who fly small indoor drones called whoops. The event starts with an 8-week training phase where pilots can learn and practice new tricks without any pressure—there are no penalties for skipping a week, and no letters are given during this time. After training, the real competition begins. Each week, a new trick is announced, and pilots must submit a video completing it. If they fail or don’t submit, they earn a letter from the word “IGOW.” Once a pilot gets all four letters, they’re out. The competition continues until only one pilot remains. IGOW is open to all skill levels and is a fun way to improve your flying, connect with the community, and even win prizes along the way.

Beginner Challenge

Goal: Show control by flying around a target in both directions.
Rules: Must be done in one continuous clip with no bumps or ground taps.

1. Fly straight forward past a visible target (like a cone, pole, or tree).
2. Turn left or right around the target.
3. Fly back to your starting point.
4. Fly forward again past the same target.
5. This time, turn the opposite direction around the target.
6. Fly back to your starting point.

Intermediate Challenge

Goal: Practice vertical control and smooth diving technique.
Rules: Must be done in one continuous clip with no bumps or ground taps.

1. Fly straight up to a height of at least 50 feet (15 meters).
2. Dive down with your camera angled toward the ground.
3. Pull out smoothly before hitting the ground by pitching back and adding throttle.
4. Repeat the dive at least one more time for a total of two clean dives.

Advanced Challenge

Goal: Show precision by flying forward and backward through a gate.
Rules: Must be done in one continuous clip with no bumps or ground taps.

1. Line up and fly backward through the gate with control.
2. Set up or find a gate (max size: 28 inches / 71 cm wide and tall).
3. Fly forward through the gate.
4. Turn around and fly past the gate — you can go around, over, or under it, but not through it again.

Closer Look

Flight Controller

The Air65 uses a 5-in-1 F4 flight controller that combines your ESC, receiver, and VTX into one ultra-light, space-efficient board. It’s durable, clean, and easy to work with—especially thanks to larger motor pads for easier soldering (should you ever need to).

ELRS (ExpressLRS 2.4G – Serial)

The onboard receiver runs Serial ELRS 2.4GHz, offering excellent link quality and low latency. Binding is done via WiFi, and you’ll need to update the binding phrase on the quad through your browser. No SPI nonsense here—just proper, full-featured ELRS.

VTX Output

Built-in VTX supports switchable output from 25mW up to 400mW. For most indoor or park flying, 25mW is plenty. Save the higher outputs for outdoor sessions or penetration-heavy environments.

Camera (C03)

The C03 is lightweight with solid image quality. It’s well suited for indoor flying and gives a clear feed for racing and freestyle. One note: there’s a black sticker placed behind the camera to block light from leaking into the sensor through small holes in the PCB. Do not remove this sticker—it serves a very real purpose and greatly improves image clarity.

Air Canopy

The stock Air Canopy is designed with weight savings in mind, which helps performance and agility. However, it’s not the most durable option available. If you crash frequently or fly hard, you may want to consider upgrading to a sturdier mount (see Modifications below).

BT2.0 U Cable

This updated BT2.0 connector is slightly heavier than previous versions, but it’s significantly more convenient and durable. It’s easier to handle and far less likely to be damaged during battery swaps.

Recommended Batteries

For the best performance, BetaFPV’s 300mAh LAVA LiPo Batteries 1S Z-folded LiPos are ideal for the Air65 series. The Z-folded cell design helps reduce voltage sag and provides more consistent power throughout your flight.

• 300mAh (Recommended): My personal favorite. Slightly heavier, but offers noticeably longer flight times and solid power delivery.
• 260mAh: Lighter and snappier in the air, but with slightly shorter flight time.

I recommend picking up at least 2 packs of the LAVA 300mah to get up to 30 minutes of continuous flight time before running out of juice.

Flight Performance

Freestyle Edition

A smooth and controllable flyer, perfect for learning and refining freestyle fundamentals. The 23,000KV motors offer excellent throttle resolution, making it easier to hit lines, manage throttle flow, and develop precise stick control. Great for indoor spaces, tight environments, or anyone dialing in their movement and flow without being overwhelmed by speed—all while delivering the longest flight times of the lineup.

Flight Time: ~2:30 to 3:30 on a 300mAh battery, depending on throttle and flight style.

Racing Edition

A solid step up in speed and agility, this version features 27,000KV motors that bring more punch and quicker responses. It’s a great option for pilots who have some freestyle experience and want something faster to push their progression. It’s more than capable of tackling faster tracks and tighter lines, while still offering the control and responsiveness needed for freestyle runs where precision matters just as much as speed.

Flight Time: ~2:00 to 2:45 depending on how hard you fly.

Champion Edition

This is the most responsive, fastest, and most powerful version of the Air65 lineup. The 30,000KV dual ball bearing motors deliver explosive thrust and lightning-quick reaction to every stick input. It feels aggressive in the air and offers complete control even during the most demanding freestyle moves. Whether it’s Rubik’s Cube, Barani’s, Trippy Spins, or fast directional changes, the Champion handles everything you throw at it with ease. It’s built for advanced pilots who want raw performance in a tight, technical environment—and it lives up to its name.

Flight Time: ~1:45 to 2:30 depending on throttle and flying style.

Where it falls short

• Motor Replacement Requires Soldering
  The Air65 comes fully built and ready to fly—no soldering required out of the box. However, if you ever need to replace a motor, soldering will be necessary to make the repair. It’s a valuable skill that every serious pilot should learn sooner rather than later. If you’re not ready to solder or prefer a plug-and-play option, consider checking out the Meteor65 Pro, which uses motor plugs and doesn’t require soldering to repair.
• U.FL Antenna May Detach in Crashes
  This is a common issue with lightweight quads. To prevent it, many pilots secure the U.FL connector with a small dab of E6000 or Welders Glue.
• Camera Angle May Be Too Aggressive for Beginners
  The Air Canopy only supports steeper camera angles (e.g., 27°, 35°). If you need something more relaxed, you can tie fishing line between the screw and canopy tip to hold a custom angle.

Modification Options

1. Canopy – As previously mentioned, one of the cons of this build is the Air Canopy. It’s not the most durable, so it will probably break within a couple of weeks of flying. Here’s my recommendation for upgrading this part:
   • 1. The durable option: The original Mobula 6 Canopy with the Tokyo Dom Cam Holder. This combo weighs around 1.1g, which will add a little weight, but its offers a TON of durability, which will help prevent parts from breaking during crashes.
   • 2. The lightweight option: The Bike Guy Cam Mount V2 weighs just 0.4g and is designed to offer decent durability during crashes. Although I’ve only recently started testing it, many top racers highly recommend it.
2. Motors – If you start to crave more speed, then I would recommend upgrading your motors with either weBLEEDfpv or Tiny Whoop 0702 motors

Which Air65 Edition is Right for You?

• Freestyle (0702SE II 23,000KV): Best for beginners and intermediate pilots who want smooth, precise control for freestyle tricks. It’s easy to handle, durable, solid flight time, and offers a great balance of responsiveness and control.
• Racing (0702SE II 27,000KV): Suited for pilots who crave increased speed and responsiveness. If you’re ready to compete or simply enjoy flying faster, the Racing edition hits the sweet spot between ease of handling and competitive speed.
• Champion (0702 II 30,000KV dual ball-bearing): Built for champions. Tailored to advanced pilots and serious competitors, this version delivers maximum performance, lightning-fast responsiveness, and crazy speed. If you’re chasing podium finishes, this is your drone.
