Tyrantt’s Pro Whooper (TPW) isn’t just another competition; it’s an immersive freestyle experience that combines the excitement of whoop flying with the thrill of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. TPW is designed to be an enjoyable venture for pilots of all skill levels, whether you’re a beginner taking your first flight or an experienced pro looking to show off your skills. What truly sets TPW apart is its distinctively laid-back, flexible, and ongoing format. Unlike traditional competitions with strict schedules and punitive measures, TPW creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. You’ll discover that the beauty of TPW is that it will encourage you to explore and experiment without the fear of failure, in addition to providing you with the freedom to participate at your preferred pace and take breaks as needed, all without facing any consequences.

Please note that these rules have not been updated to include indoor flying. I will update these rules to include this very soon

How it works

Registration is required if you would like to win prizes and giveaways. Due to the ongoing and casual nature of TPW, registration is consistently open, giving you the flexibility to start participating whenever, even if it’s in the middle of the season! Click here to register.

TPW will have an “Event” every two weeks, where you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a 90-second freestyle performance, aiming to achieve the highest possible score by executing tricks from a comprehensive tricktionary that features more than 80 tricks. Upon completing your freestyle line, you’ll enter the performed tricks into a very intuitive and user-friendly calculator, which automatically calculates your score based on the point value of the trick and any multipliers or penalties that goes along with it. Rather than having requiring challenges, each event will introduce three optional “tricks of the week” that that are thoughtfully selected to inspire creativity and motivate pilots of all skill levels to explore beyond their comfort zones. Not only will you earn double the points for performing the tricks of the week, but you can further elevate your score and build up multipliers by executing trick combos, by collecting the letters K.W.A.D., or KWAD, from accomplishing various objectives like flying under a car or perching on a tall object, and by getting the biggest streak possible by doing as many tricks in a row as you can without crashing or bumping into anything. Maximizing your points through these multipliers also enhances your chances of securing one of the event prizes.

There’s a lot of different ways to play Tyrantt’s Pro Whooper, but the key take away is this; TPW is all about having fun. You don’t have to engage with the tricks of the week or any other multipliers. The idea behind TPW is for you to go out and just have fun and win some prizes along the way. You can choose to participate every challenge if you want or even skip a few if you need a break. TPW is all about having a good time and flying how you want, where you want, and when you want.

Tyrantt’s Pro Whooper transcends being a mere competition, it’s a dynamic platform that’s all about taking your freestyle skills to the next level and having blast at the same time. It’s also a journey filled with recognition, opportunities to win exciting prizes and giveaways, and potential for you to gain subscribers and even catch the attention of sponsors. All of this takes place within a welcoming and supportive community that embraces and encourages every pilot’s journey.

Enjoy the freedom to fly your freestyle line however you desire. You have the choice to participate in performing Tricks of the Week, creating combos, collecting KWAD, and flying in the map of the week, but remember, these are all optional multipliers, and you won’t face penalties if you choose not to engage with them.

Multipliers

Tricks of the Week: Participate in Tricks of the Week (TotW) to earn double points. TotW can be performed more frequently before point reduction penalties come into play.

Streak Bonus For every conservative trick you do, you will earn a 5% multiplier that compounds on itself. 100% > 105% > 110% > 115% > 120% etc. This maxes out at 200%

KWAD: Collect letters to spell KWAD by completing the objective for each letter. Every collected letter adds a bonus of +250 points to your score. Collecting all four letters earns a +2000 point bonus.

Map of the Week: Flying in the selected map of the week boosts your overall score by +10%. You can opt out of the bonus and fly wherever you choose.

Penalties

The following penalties aim to encourage diverse freestyle lines and deter repeated tricks.

Repeat Point Reduction: For standard tricks, your initial execution grants you 100% of the trick’s point value. On the second attempt, you’ll receive 75% of the points, followed by 50%, and then 0% for all subsequent repeats. However, Tricks of the Week allow you to perform the same trick more frequently before point reductions begin, in addition to earning double points. The point reduction percentages are as follows:

  • Beginner TotW: 200%, 200%, 200%, 150%, 100%, 0%
  • Intermediate TotW: 200%, 200%, 150%, 100%, 0%
  • Advanced TotW: 200%, 150%, 100%, 0%

Back-to-Back Penalty: Performing tricks back to back results in compounding penalties. The first trick scores normally, but subsequent back-to-back tricks incur a -50% point reduction that compounds (-50%, -75%, -87.5%, and so on) after bonuses are applied. This also terminates the current combo multiplier.

Subpar Trick Execution:
In cases where trick execution is sloppy, such as breaking constant loop motion (clm) with loop tricks, colliding with the ground or objects, or missing the intended target, you will receive a penalty of -35% and your combo multiplier will terminate

Bumping and Ground Taps If you bump into an object or tap the ground when performing a trick, you will receive a 50% penalty and your combo and streak will terminate. If you bump or tap between tricks, you will not receive any trick penalties for the previous trick, but your streak and combo multiplier will terminate.

Failing a Trick: In the event of failing to execute a trick, you will not receive any points for that particular trick. Additionally, failing a trick will cause your combo and streak multipliers to break, although it won’t contribute to the point reduction for that specific trick.

We understand that some individuals may prefer flying outdoors but may face constraints due to inclement weather. To accommodate diverse preferences, we provide pilots with the flexibility to choose between flying indoors or outdoors. Regardless of the chosen option, participants will receive a set of Tricks of the Week and KWAD objectives specifically tailored to each environment.

Indoor Obstacles: Our indoor tricktionary encompasses a diverse array of tricks designed for various freestyle obstacles. Some of these obstacles can be creatively utilized to mimic the characteristics of other obstacles, such as using a cube as a Single Gate, for instance. We grant pilots the freedom to fly their preferred obstacle and score it based on the corresponding obstacle type. For example, executing a Powerloop on the front face of a cube can be scored as a “Powerloop – Cube,” despite its resemblance to a “Powerloop – Single Gate.”

As of now, TPW recognizes the following indoor obstacles:

  • Single gate – a single gate that is 28in x 28in or smaller
  • Cube – a square cube with 6 sides that are all 28in x 28in or smaller
  • Triple Gate Stack (TGS) – three single gates stacked on top of each other that are all 28in x 28in or smaller
  • Over/Under – any sized object that can be flown over and then under again, like a table.
  • Dive Gate – a horizontal single gate that is 28in or smaller
  • Wall – a solid vertical surface

We’re planning to introduce additional obstacles soon. However, the process is time-consuming as we need to review each trick in the tricktionary to ensure compatibility with the obstacle. Assigning point values based on the difficulty of each trick with the obstacle adds to the manual effort. We anticipate including new obstacles like a double cube, a pole, and utilizing “yourself” in the near future.

Multipliers

It’s worth mentioning that participating in these multipliers is entirely up to you, and deciding not to engage won’t impact your success in the event. These multipliers are there to encourage you to expand your skill set, push your boundaries, all while earning valuable points to enhance your overall score. It’s a fantastic opportunity to elevate your freestyle experience and showcase your skills without any pressure!

Every event in Tyrantt’s Pro Whooper will introduce “Tricks of the Week.” Instead of imposing mandatory challenges, Tricks of the Week are a highly encouraged feature designed to inspire pilots to step out of their comfort zones and experiment with new tricks. Each event will present three tricks tailored to different skill levelsā€”Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. These tricks come with the added incentive of DOUBLE points. We’ve also devised a structure for allowing pilots to repeat these specific tricks for full value more often than normal tricks before the repeat reduction penalty kicks in, which will be talked about more in depth in the penalty section of this video.

It’s important to note that participating in Trick of the Week is entirely optional, and opting out will not result in failure for the event. Tricks of the Week are intended to encourage you to expand your skill set, push your boundaries, all while earning valuable points to increase your total score. It’s a fantastic opportunity to elevate your freestyle experience and showcase your freestyle skills!

The streak bonus is an effortless way to earn a multiplier is by executing as many tricks as possible consecutively without bumping or crashing into obstacles. With each successful trick, you’ll accumulate a compounding 5% multiplier that enhances the value of that particular trick. For instance, your initial trick will be worth 100% of the base point value, and then next trick will receive a 105% multiplier, followed by 110% for the trick after that. This multiplier reaches a maximum cap of 200%. It’s important to note that a collision or bump will terminate the streak, and your subsequent trick will return to the standard 100% value.

Just like in the legendary Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, you have the option to collect all four letters spread throughout the map, and by doing so, you’ll unlock a ton of bonus points. For each letter of KWAD that you successfully collect, you’ll earn an impressive +250 bonus points, and if you manage to snag all four letters, you’ll be rewarded with an additional 2000 points. However, it’s not just about finding these letters; each one presents a unique challenge that you must conquer to claim it. These objectives could range from flying under a car, perching on a lamp post, flying through a tree, or executing specific tricks. Performing these challenges adds an extra layer of excitement and strategy to your TPW adventure, all while boosting your score

We understand that variety is key to keeping your freestyle journey exciting and fresh. That’s why we introduce a “Map Selection” ā€“ a thrilling feature that encourages you take your flights to diverse locations, each offering its unique challenges and opportunities, all while providing a bonus to your overall score

Map of the Week:
Every challenge, we unveil a “Map of the Week” for you to explore. These maps can encompass a wide range of environments, which includes indoor settings, playgrounds, parking lots, wooded areas, and much more.
By selecting the Map of the Week, you not only get to test your freestyle skills by adapting to new surroundings in different environments, but you will also earn an additional 10% bonus to your overall score for your efforts.

But with that being said, you have the freedom to fly wherever your heart desires. While you won’t receive a bonus for flying somewhere else, you’ll still have the opportunity to test your abilities in various environments and enjoy the thrill of freestyling. The world is your playground!

Penalties

Similar to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, we are also implementing point reductions to ensure that freestyle flying in Tyrantt’s Pro Whooper is not only thrilling but also balanced and fair for all participants. Our penalty system addresses trick repetition, back-to-back trick spamming, and subpar trick execution, making the competition more engaging and rewarding for every pilot.

Normal tricks will receive 100% of their point value the first time they are executed during a challenge. On the second attempt, the trick’s value reduces to 75%, followed by 50% on the third, and 0% for all subsequent repetitions. Trick of the Week offers more leeway, allowing you to perform the same trick multiple times before the reduction applies.

To prevent spamming the same trick repeatedly in quick succession, we apply a compound penalty. The first trick you perform will scores normally, but subsequent back-to-back tricks incur a -50% point reduction that compounds (-50%, -75%, -87.5%, and so on) after bonuses are applied. This will also terminate the current combo multiplier. This ensures that freestyle tricks are performed naturally and creatively within the surrounding environment, rather than being repeated endlessly.

In cases where trick execution is sloppy, such as breaking constant loop motion (clm) with loop tricks, colliding with the ground or objects, or missing the intended target, you will receive a penalty of -35% and your combo multiplier will terminate

If you bump into an object or tap the ground when performing a trick, you will receive a 50% penalty and your combo and streak will terminate.

If you happen to bump or tap between tricks, there won’t be any penalties assigned to the previous trick. However, your streak and combo multiplier will be reset. In the event of such a mishap, make sure to include the “Between Tricks” option in the calculator’s trick list and then select the appropriate Trick Execution penalty.

In the event of failing to execute a trick, you will not receive any points for that particular trick. Additionally, failing a trick will cause your combo and streak multipliers to break, although it won’t contribute to the point reduction for that specific trick

Submitting your freestyle video in Tyrantt’s Pro Whooper is simple, but it’s essential to follow the guidelines:

  1. Create a freestyle video lasting 90 seconds or less, with an additional 10 seconds for the intro and/or outro, for a total of 100 seconds. Ensure it’s a single continuous clip without any cuts or edits.
  2. Upload your video to YouTube, and make sure it’s accessible to view by others. If your video isn’t public by default, set it to “unlisted” so that it can be viewed during the live stream. If it’s not set to unlisted by the end of the live stream, then the video won’t count for the challenge.
  3. Utilize the provided calculator in the spreadsheet to calculate your total points for the current week’s challenge.
  4. Feel free to get creative with the video edit to enhance the viewer experience, using fun audio, pictures, or other elements.
  5. Ensure your video provides a smooth viewer experience by removing any DVR audio static.
  6. Fair play is crucial. Any attempts at cheating will result in a permanent ban from the competition.
  7. To have your score added to the leaderboard and your video featured on the live stream, ensure you upload your video before the challenge deadline.

Finally, submit your video via the google form and make sure to include your spreadsheet when submitting your video. Additionally, don’t forget post your video on the Tyrantt’s Whoop Lounge server! Videos posted after the deadline will not be eligible for inclusion on the leaderboard.

Our live streams are an integral part of TPW, and we’ve planned them with your enjoyment in mind. The challenge review live streams will be scheduled every two weeks to showcase the incredible video submissions from our talented participants. Our primary goal is to keep these live streams engaging and under 4-hours long.

Initially, while the participant count is manageable, we aim to feature all video submissions during the live stream. However, as the number of submissions increases, my dedicated judges and I may preselect the more interesting videos to show off during the 4 hour life stream.

On alternate weekends, we introduce ‘The Pro Whooper Show,’ a segment that highlights some of the best videos of the week and involves judging the top 10 highest-scoring videos to determine the challenge winner. We even give our audience the opportunity to vote for their favorite video, which can potentially influence the challenge’s outcome.

During ‘The Pro Whooper Show,’ the judges and I evaluate the top 10 highest-scoring videos using specific criteria: freestyle flow, trick execution, highest streak, highest combo, the number of KWAD letters collected, and the quality of the video edit. Objective scores, such as the highest streak, highest combo, and KWAD letters collected, are scored based on each pilot’s performance relative to other participants. The freestyle flow, trick execution, and video editing are subjective scores assigned by the judges. Both objective and subjective scores carry equal weight, with each category worth 50 points, resulting in scores up to a combined total of 100 points.

In cases where pilots are within 10 points of the first-place position, we offer the audience the opportunity to vote for their preferred pilots to help determine the winner. For instance, if a pilot has a total score of 88 points, all pilots who scored 79 points or higher will enter an audience vote. The audience wields the real potential to influence the show’s outcome.

It’s important to note that while judges will be participating in TPW, they are automatically disqualified from winning any event prizes during the events they are actively judging.

Prizes and Giveaways: The best video of the week will be celebrated with a performance prize, a testament to the outstanding freestyle skills and creativity displayed by our participants. But the excitement doesn’t stop there. We also like to keep things lively during our live streams by hosting giveaways that will happen randomly throughout the the stream! So join in on the fun, stay engaged, and keep an eye out for surprises ā€“ you never know what might come your way!

Shipping: Please be aware that we will only be sending out prizes at the end of the season. This decision is primarily due to the strong likelihood that there will be several pilots that win multiple prizes due to the low participation of this being a new competition. Given the considerable expense of shipping, particularly with a substantial portion of our community residing overseas, consolidating multiple prizes into a single package will significantly aid TPW in managing these costs more efficiently, especially since TPW does not have a sufficient amount of funding to cover all shipping expenses.

US and International Shipping: If the cost of shipping is more than the value of the product, we will offer to send the pilot PayPal cash for the value of the item. If the pilot still wants the item, then the pilot must cover the price difference over the value of the item. So if an item is valued at $10, and the shipping cost is $18, then we will offer the pilot $10 cash or the pilot can pay $8 for shipping.

International Shipping: TPW will cover $20 for international packages. The pilot must cover the shipping costs over $20, regardless of package value. So if a $150 package costs $30 to ship, then the pilot must pay $10 for shipping

Funding: Please consider supporting TPW by becoming a Patreon member to assist in offsetting the shipping costs associated with the prizes we’re giving away. Without this funding, there’s a possibility that we might need to streamline our prize offerings, opting for fewer but more valuable prizes to offset the associated shipping costs. Thank you for your understanding and support! https://www.patreon.com/ProWhooper
